Villa Beukenhof, The Hidden Garden.

One of my favorite places to visit this 16th-century villa, which recently celebrated its 500 years.

The walk along the cobblestone pathway through the garden to the Beukenhof front door is already part of its inviting charm. The time of my visit being a cold, wet and windy day meant get quickly inside and enjoy to the upmost the welcome offered. A roaring open fireplace and candlelit lounge, the word cosy is an understatement.

My order of aperitif and bites being served on the antique wooden table where I sat only made the view through the farmhouse style window even more complete.I usually frequent to enjoy a quiet drink with friends or a business meeting. I enjoy both options equally. The staff are so correct and helpful always making you feel at home. I was shown the kitchen and the chef showed and explained to me what was on his seasonal menu at the moment, it all looked scrumptious.

The Beuk as it affectionately know has nine guest bedrooms and they are all beautifully different. More suites than bedrooms really and each named after a city. You can stay in for example the Dubai, New York , Sydney, London or Tokyo each one decorated accordingly.

Soon we will be enjoying warm spring weather here in Holland, and I intend to come one afternoon with a few girlfriends to enjoy the Garden High Tea of which the Beukenhof is renown. Today though I think a nice campari on the rocks with plate of bites will do nicely.

This gem is located in Oegstgeest in the South of the Netherlands in a very peaceful location. But not far from the main cities and just an couple kilometers from Leiden the city where Rembrand van Rijn was born and lived in so just grab a bike and go and visit.

As we are between the seasons and the weather is unpredictable I am wearing my red suit purchased some weeks back in Zara this suit can be definitely styled so many different ways from trainers with belted closed jacket with simple T shirt or Silk camisole. I choose for more classic  look. Asymmetric top from Tara Jarmon so feminine and my very high hells sandals from Stuart Weitzman  so comfortable for high shoes  and goes pretty much with everything.  My little bag with gold handle is from Salvatore Ferragamo somehow I hope I have complimented  with this choice this beautiful villa. Thank you to the management for warm welcome.
