Bohemian Mood

From time to time I need to express the Bohemian attitude and vibes. And this I do through what I decide to wear.
The Bohemian style as we know it and often referred to as boho or boho chic became very popular in ‘60’s and ‘70’s.
The aim being to be and live free, away from inhibitions set by society. This you could see in the flowing designs with the risky mix of colors and fabric.
Bohemian roots of course started even earlier in the late part of the 19th and early 20th century. The true Bohemian often lived an unconventional artistic life.
The original Bohemians were in fact those coming from Central Europe, refugees or gypsy. The French word for gypsy is Bohémien. The high society and aristocratic of Europe at the time often choose the life style and it became known as High Bohemia. What a heavenly thought to hangout in a opium scented cafe in say Prague, Paris or Budapest with its slightly shabby looking interior and discuss endlessly over a book or painting. After all time is not an issue, tomorrow I do not have any engagements other than a lunch appointment.

As for me I will now enjoy the moment, standing outside and feeling very free in my printed maxi dress and favorite pom pom wedge espadrilles. Oh and denim jacket to give me that full Bohemian feel. It’s denim patchwork or embroided jackets that really sets the note. To be really Bohemian the printed maxi dresses needs to have either a paisley or floral, flowing geometric theme. And don’t forget to wear your most extravagant necklace and earrings. Me being on these days that kind of ruffled dressed girl who feels free, nomadic, spirited and alive. Non-Bourgeois.
